Text description provided by the architects. High above Lake Lugano, this impressive villa designed by Philipp Architekten - Anna Philipp is set in fantastic surroundings with a stunning view. The clients had already lived in Lugano for many years before they decided to move up onto the mountain. The house consists of four levels which all have to be crossed before reaching the top located residential area. The aim was to gain the best benefit of the unique panoramic view.
The spaciousness of the living area merges visually with the overwhelming nature, emphasized by using transparency, different views and perspectives. Bearing account to the region’s climate, the living room doubles due to the large terraces over a long period of the year. The clients rave about the 270˚ panoramic view, where under favourable weather conditions you can even spot Milan. There is nothing to disturb the splendid view of the Swiss Alps, even the water surface of the overflow pool seems to merge with the surrounding nature.
